Peace of Mind: An Exploration of Acoustic Barriers that Reduce Unwanted Noise

With Covid-19 precaution guidelines in place, students and people that work at home have a  difficult time finding an adequate setting to do work without any distractions. The purpose of  the investigation is to confirm that including acoustic sound barriers in residential work  environments will provide a better place for studying or learning because they will reduce  distractions caused by peripheral noise. This thesis investigation will explore materiality and  form to create an acoustic solution that provides a better acoustic space for people to work  within.
